Goran... I'm on my way...
Since Bapat Sir has asked me to avoid mushy-gushy topics, I value his advice. I found the following note, a couple of months ago, in one of the books I borrowed from one of the affiliate Penn State Libraries. The book was in the antique-stacks and was last issued in 1987 and yeah it was issued only once before me. For me, it was the height of coincidence!!!

A Tryst with Statistics:
Probability of issuing of a book from the vast Penn State Libraries (Over 50 of them) = 1/10^12
Probability of a ‘Prakash’ issuing a book among Penn State students, staff ‘n faculty (assuming there are around 7 Prakash’s in Penn State University presently) = 7/70000 = 1/10000
Probability that Prakash-1 issued it and Prakash-2 issues it again = (1/10000)^2 * 1/10^12 = 10^-22 :-)

why don't you go ahead and find out the probability of the book being issues to two specific prakash's and not being issued to anyone else in that whole period........that would be even mopreinteresting!

or was it something like a Goran issued the book and had written the note to give to some Prakash but was never delivered to him and the note was lying in the book since then:)... juss a thought..

Dude, serendipity involved Probability with a romantic angle. Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please tell me there is nothing of this sort here, seeing as how the three people involved are Prakash, Prakash and Goran!
And while you're at it, what is the probability of two Prakashs' residing in that same city (which is not their natural habitat) and subscribing to Penn state univ library? Why not include those? But then you'd need data on the occurance of a member of the species Prakash in the aforementioned habitats. Should take you a while. :)
Hmm..this is coincidence bordering on creepiness...that is unless you aren't making it all up, for the odds of it happening are impossible...but if you arent...find this prakash he might be able to shed some light on it:))
I believe if some guy had making this up, there would be some girl's name there asking him out for dinner. Am I right Prakash? ;)
