Safar-e'-Pakistan
Have bought the copy-rights of the title from Sir. Saw that the previous blog invoked much criticism. But, a ‘feeble’ attempt last time made me at least realize that there are a few readers of this blog and I should not let them down. So, I installed Extreme tracker to keep track of ppl visiting my blog. I would really appreciate if ppl did comment on my blogs. Acutally, I was quite skeptical about putting up this new blog. Quite an old story for all of us. And the worst being no lessons learnt at the end of it.
Neways, last week I had a talk with a Paki girl – Hira (reminiscent of Zhara from the latest hindi flick :-) ). I had a couple of Muslim friends back in school. But, the interaction with her was totally different. Its still stupid that we really remain confused about our feelings with the fellow Pakis. Maybe its just not anyone’s fault or maybe it is? Do we really know the social life and political structure in our neighboring country? To be frank, I was totally clueless!!
Well, she is doing her MS in Economics and Political Science (or something like that) I thought there could be no better person to ask. And to put it really straight. It is no different from our own. I find absolutely no difference in our democracy, only that their government seems to be more militant. Or thatz what is always potrayed – thankx to our media run for political interests. Right since childhood we are bombarded with images of enmity with Pakistan and as you guessed they too are. And maybe in a few generations it will be rightfully enter the school history books too and would become a part of a curriculum. Thanks to our ‘so-called’ ‘selfless’ and self-proclaimed leaders whom a bunch of goons ‘n illiterate people respect ‘n are ready to do anything on their command – be it ruining pitches to disrupt cricket matches, ransacking theaters stating that the movie is immoral, even when the censor board has cleared it and then the list goes on.
And there its no different!!! As she says, only that there are self-proclaimed religious leaders called Mullahs present at every nook ‘n corner of the streets. People abusing the world in the name of religion. And its because of these handful people, the country’s image is at stake. And then there are so many problems flooding both the countries, that its just limitless even to mention them
And do we all really want this. In this so-called ‘modern hi-tech’ age, do we really care if the person in the adjacent seat or cubicle is a Pakistani or an Indian. Does it really matter?? Soon, it will be that soldiers on either side will not know what they are actually fighting for. A soldier will only abuse and kill his opponent only because his great-grandfather, who was also a soldier and did the same.
India wants Kashmir maybe as much as Pakistan does. But, what the common man here wants is peace!! He is surely not bothered if Kashmir is in India or in Pakistan. As long as its residents are living peacefully and not witnessing their brethren die in bloodshed each day. I’m not trying to draw any conclusion nor propose any solutions. I believe its beyond anyone’s will and imagination. No one knows when and where the dispute of Kashmir will ever end. Why are we in this state today??? I believe Hira is just confused like many of us….
But, doesn’t the whole scene disturb you??

Providing an alltogether different approach:
1. Why do you think its the same for both.. i mean the ill effects of the rivalary... and the lossses.. are common to both. Have u seen the latest almost half beheaded map of india? A large chunk of land is shown as a part of the Neighburing country.. Why does it happen with us.. Why isnt it so that some portion of the islamic land is shown as ours??
2. The militant camps, do we have them? do they have people killed in cities like Karachi .. far away from the border.. that too because of militants breeded in Indus land? NO. then why do we have blasts rocking mumbai and further inside the country?
3. Do we behave like a free home for their criminals as they do.. Why do we often see all our wanted dons and etc ppl roaming freely on Karachi streets?
4. Our PM rallies in the Lahore Bus. and their soldiers cross the Kargil borders...
I dont mean that every citizen of the neighbouring land is my enemy. But I strictly feel that the country is worth NO MORE RESPECT. We have had enough. Correctly as u have written. No point in fighting the same war for years even withough knowing why to fight..
I SAY END IT ALL.
No more war after that. Settle on something.. Use all the power once for all and then enough. No more.
After all even we spend thousands of crores of Rs. on defences and still more valuable human lives.. Why??? Better to end this war.. May it result in end of one country.. if it comes to that!
The Delhi Unit of Shiv Sena's youth wing Bhartiya Vidyarthi Sena on Friday threatened that it would not allow Pakistani cricket team to play at Ferozshah Kotla, which is one of the proposed venues for one-dayers during the upcoming series between the arch-rivals.
"As per the instructions from the Shiv Sena Supremo, we would not allow the match to be held at Ferozshah Kotla ground at any cost. We are fully ready for it," Bhartiya Vidyarthi Sena's Delhi unit chief Mangatram Munde said in a statement.
Is it necessary to bring rivalry into sports? I had heard that Sports trascends all barriers of nationality, race and religion.
wat i really feel prak is that its neither our fault nor theirs. i dunno know just coz of some vested interests from both the countries they really wanna to keep this flame of enmity burning b/w the two countries.
the people from both the countries want to live in peace and harmony, no bloodshedding. all this enmity has already spoiled the paradise of India "kashmir". the govt. intiatives come n go, but nothing really concrete happens. I really wish for peace to thrive b/w the two countries.Amen!!
well this might seem a bit outta place compared to the seriuos discussion u guys seem to hv on this post...i jus dropped to say..tht now try looking at my blog..changed the color ;)
Bro,
Frankly, your blog (and your thoughts post-Hira) seem immature. The predictions you make later on, even more so. Soldiers fight because if they don't, the other guy will kill them, their friends, their relatives and their children in that order. Soldiers don't go around throwing children at walls in an attempt at bashing their heads and killing them - Pakistan backed terrorists do that in Kashmir. Soldiers don't indulge in genocide - that's what's happened in PoK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) over the years since 1947 (and to an extent, that happened in Kashmir too, thanks to the Paki-backed militants).
The world is not as clean cut and straightforward as you think it is.
And yes, it does matter to me whether the person sitting in the cubicle next to me is a Pakistani or not.
Prak,
Please remove the post and the comments. I had already warned you I guess. This is what happens when you discuss explosive topics on a free portal.
Please maintain clean blogdom.
